Evaluations Of Doctors, Nurses And Patients About Patient's Rights In Hospitals

aKaradeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Trabzon Sağlık Yüksekokulu, TRABZON The study was done to determine the information levels of doctors, nurses and patients about patients’ rights, and to evaluate the situation of performing the patients’ rights in hospitals according to the views of these three groups. It was fulfilled with the participation of 116 doctors, 272 nurses and 307 patients in all state hospitals and a university in Trabzon Center. For the medical personels, data was gathered from a inquiry including 6 questions related to demographic charasterics and 4 questions about patients’ rights, the scale of patients’ rights and the the information scale of patients’ rights. For the patients, data was gathered from a inquiry inculding 5 questions related to demographic characteristics and 3 questions about patients’ rights, the scale of patients’ rights and the information scale of patients’ rights for patients. Consequently; it was determined that the applications of patients’rights was being applied in the state hospitals, but not in required levels according to the views of patients, and these applications was not being performed or very inadequate with the views of these three groups in the university. The levels of knowledge of doctors, nurses and patients in both kind of hospitals was very good about patients’ rights.Keywords: Patient rights; nurses; hospitalsTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Ethics 2007, 15:145-152
