Patient’s Rights Execution And Limitation In Practice; Nursing Students Observation

aHemşirelik Esasları AD, İstanbul Üniversitesi Florence Nightingale Hemşirelik Yüksekokulu, İSTANBUL Objective: This descriptive study was planned to determine of nursing students observation of patient’s rights execution and limitation in the two University Hospital.
Material and Methods: The study was conducted with 262 nursing students from a Collage of Nursing. Data were gathered using a Questionnaire Form. The analysis of the data was calculated on the computer in the terms of percentage.
Results: The results of this study indicate there was limitation of patient’s rights clinical execution such as the respect for individual value, informed consent, respect for privacy and private life. The right to medical care without discrimination was execute in the practice but the right of complaint was not observed by the nursing students.
Conclusion: In conclusion, there was an increase in interest about the subject of patient’s rights there remain important problems in protecting patient’s rights in health service. It is duty of every health care team to know patient’s rights, and take care to observe, defend and protect them in practice.Keywords: Patient rights, students, nursingTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Ethics 2006, 14:140-144
