A Study On Medicinal Herb Trading Applications In Ankara

aEczacılık İşletmeciliği AD, Ankara Üniversitesi Eczacılık Fakültesi, ANKARA Objective: In this study, it is tried to reveal both the usage frequency of herbal, animal, mineral drugs and applications of medicinal herb trading in Ankara.
Material and Methods: The material of this study is 49 questionnaire forms prepared for herbalists that are licensed from the Ministry of Health.
Results: According to the results of the study; 59% of products are sold as packaged goods. 10-30% of customers (at 30.8% rate), buy the drugs separately and mix the drugs themselves. Although it is prohibited by the Ministry of Health, 77% of herbalists prepare drug mixtures, and pharmacological features about herbal drugs like effects, contents or directions for use, are labeled on nearly all of the packages.
Conclusion: Herbal medicinal products became popular again and herbal drugs are not kept under control with strict regulations in many countries.Keywords: Herbalist, herbal medicine, medicinal herb trading applicationsTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Ethics 2005, 13:191-194
