For this purpose, a student nurse’s report concerning her feelings and ideas about a dead patient was distri-buted to 285 nursing students who have attended Interpersonal Relations in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing classes in four schools in three provinces and they were asked to evaluate the report with two open ended answers. These answers were then evaluated by two specialist nurses. Comparing the answers of the students who took the two courses, it can be concluded that, the suppressed feelings and their approach to the terminal patient does not change with education. Keywords: Death, Terminal patient, Need for immortality, Stereotypical approachesTurkiye Klinikleri Tıbbi Etik 1997, 5:10-15
