The Utilization Of Public Health Centers And The Satisfaction Of People, To Health Services (isparta 2000)

* Yrd.Doç.Dr., Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Halk Sağlığı AD,** Araş.Gör.Dr., Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Halk Sağlığı AD, ISPARTA Goal: The purpose of this study is to determine how well the people in Isparta are benefiting from public health centers (PHC), and satisfying to the public healthcare programs.
Material and Method: Research area consists of 28 PHC have been selected out among 84 PHC and their region using systematic and stratified sampling methods. 840 people were interviewed each coming from one household. The survey included questions directed to the clinic doctor. Data was analyzed using SPSS 9.0.
Findings: 65.8% of the sample was women with an average age of 44.116.5. 81.8% of the respondents stated when they first get sick they visit the public the PHC, and 89.4% of them said they were happy with the services. There was a significant negative correlation between their education and the choice of their initial visit upon illness. The respondents who did not have public health care coverage were visiting the PHC more often.
The majority of respondents believed that the primary responsibility of PHC is to examine patients, and unaware that they also provide family planning and environmental health.
Conclusion: The study revealed that the majority of people in Isparta are using the PHC.
