aDeontoloji AD, Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, ANKARA It is possible to say that the principalism reigns over medical ethics for about last twenty years. When we take into consideration the principles one by one, we see that it is so clear that nobody would object to the cores of principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice. But also it is true that a hot-debate over this topic is going on and many authors criticizes it for different reasons. Critiques to principalism and new approaches to medical ethics were reviewed in this study. Keywords: Principalism, medical ethics, contextual,
