A Traditional Healer In Sanliurfa ?attar İsa'

In traditional societies the ideas about health and diseases emerge as a part of folkloric culture. Traditional medicine or traditional healers have significant differences from modern medicine. Traditional medicine lives among people as a part of local culture.
In our country, people who learned some curative methods from their ancestors generally use some herbal, animal and mineral products for healing. These products are called ?traditional medicine'. They mostly use different kinds of plants that grow locally. Our country is quite rich from these ?materia medica'.
As far as the traditional medicine concerned Attar Isa is the first name in Sanliurfa. In this study we aim to write a biography of Attar Isa, introduce his works as well as traditional medical practices in Sanliurfa.Keywords: Traditional medicine, Attar İsa, Sanliurfa,Traditional healer
