The History Of The Turkish Bioethics Association As A Sample Organisation And Thoughts On Getting Organised And Taking Act

aDeontoloji AD, Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, ANKARA The Turkish Bioethics Association's10th anniversary will be celebrated in November 2004, and the goals it was founded for, its functioning mechanisms such as decision-making, interest and activity developing processes, its self-definition as a non-governmental organization and its theoretical approaches should be examined from a historical perspective. How such an association in our country evaluates its decisions and activities and how it should structure its operating plans according to which priorities should be discussed. By this, it might be possible for an associaton which is supposed to have an effect especially in biomedical ethics to question and criticize its raison d'etre. The reactions of the association towards previous ethical issues arosed and publicly discussed in Turkey will be studied and the extent of its participation will be searched.
