A Proposal To Increase Organ Donation From Cadavers

Organ transplantation due to organ failure and the short-age of organs available for transplantation is an important social and health care problem. The hesitance of the people to donate their organs in life or after death lies in the core of this problem. Although there are many efforts in Turkey and in many developed western countries to encourage people to make organ donations, still thousands of people dies in the waiting lists due to organ shortage.
In this paper there is a proposal to increase organ dona-tion from cadavers. It is also argued in the paper that the prior permission of the deceased, and the consent of the relatives are irrelevant in this discussion.Keywords: Organ Transplantation, Organ Donation, Beyin Ölümü
