Off-label drug use, a fact which contradicts with the theoretical framework of evidence-based contemporary medicine, causes some ethical dilemmas which can be approached from many angles from the production of the mentioned drugs to their application to treatment processes. Indeed, to examine closely what these dilemmas are and to debate on probable solution suggestions necessitate to question how consistent the values to which contemporary medicine is bonded are with the current healthcare structure. If, as an everyday experience, off-label drug use can not be explained and solved within the paradigm of contemporary medicine, it may force us to re-define it.Keywords: Medical ethics, Off-label, Oncology,Contemporary medicine, Regulatory authorities, Drug companies
