Yesterday And Today Of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis In Turkey

Ebu Bekir Muhammed bin Zekeriya al-Razi's book with the date of 1050 contains the first written knowledge about this disease. But, the first scientific knowledge about Cutaneous Leishmaniasis' Epidemiology was seen after the eighteenth century. Many Turkish researchers like Celal Muhtar, Hulusi Behçet and some foreign scientists investigated some subjects about this disease. This disease's incidence has been decreased since 1950. But, we have seen it as a serious problem of the public health since 1980.
