Plastic And Reconstructive Surgery From Ethical Point Of View

An author says beauty is mankind' s concern , so aesthetics which searches for beauty is a common problem of mankind . To some extent, human beings are interested in beauty within certain limits. Any person might be an observer, creator or receiver of beauty. In this study, first of all, the term "aesthetics" is analysed and responsibilities of observers, and receivers of beauty and those of doctors have been discussed. In order to have a cosmetic success with cosmetic indications in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery field, obtaining an enlightened onom is important,because it is not possible to guarantee success and in such risky cases, the term "patient" may show variations in meaning.Keywords: Aesthetics, Plastic Surgery, EthicsTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Ethics 2001, 9:92-97
