An Evaluation Of Informing And Informed Consent Procedure Inhospitalized Patient In A State Hospital

Uzm., İç Tedarik Bölge Başkanlığı,İstanbul Goal: In accordance with Human rights and it's extension in medicine; patient rights, Health staff, especially the doctors ought to inform their patients about the their illness and the interventions which will take place on them and than get their approval. Beside that, between the patient and the health staff; for the comfort and presence of the patient; there must be good communication. In the study, dialoque had been evaluated between patients and the health staff
Material: This study was conducted in a state-hospital and among the hospitalized patients in 1998. 408 patients interviewed through questionnaire that contained 36 questions.
Findings: The 17.8% of the patients state that nobody interested with them and a lot of patients state that, nobody show them where are the mess, room of the nurse on call(duty), toilets and nobody has informed them about the rules of the hospital, medication and the tests been carried out.
Conclusion: In this study we have seen there is not enough dialogue between the doctor and the health staff and the patients And there is a paternalist approach to patientsKeywords: Patient rights, Informed consent,
