Sexual Misconduct In Patient-physician Andresident-educator Relations In Psychiatric Practice In Turkey

A semi-structured questionnaire contains 67 questions asking to psychiatrists about their sociodemographic statues, questions about some ethical dilemmas and about philosophy of psychiatry. Of these questions 4 were about sexual misconduct and 6 sociodemographic ones are contained in this study and other questions are not related with this issue are not handled here. Psychiatrists were asked whether they have had any sexual relation with their patients and/or educators. As a result In Turkey sexual relation with the patients are found % 1.2, and relation with the educators are found % 1.6 and totally % 2.8.
These ratios are found to be lower than the ratios of other countries. But sexual relation with the patients or with educators is found to be an ethical problem in our country yet.Keywords: Patient physician relationship,
