However, it is also one of the important ethical principles in pharmaceutical services as it concerns human beings and health. As is well known, informed consent aims at informing the patient about his sickness, treatment and the drugs to be used, in order to help the patient make his own decision. This principle encourages the patient to make his decisions and makes the giving of the information obligatory. Informed consent may seem, at first sight, only as a principle for the clinical applications of a new drug from the perspective of pharmaceutical services. In actual fact, however, it is basic principle that the pharmacist should consider in the sale of drugs with or without prescriptions. In this ampirical study the principle of informed consent has been assessed from the perspective pharmaceoutical services with a view to establishing the related attitudes and conduct on the part of pharmacists. Keywords: Informed consent, Pharmaceutical servicesTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Ethics 2000, 8:28-31
