A Perspective Of The Women To The Relationship Betweenhealth Professional And Patient: The Delivery Experience

This research, in which the status of women's satisfaction was examined, has been evaluated from the point of view of patient rights in the article.
Totally 183 women formed the model of this research; the data were collected by inquiry method.
Most of the women, within the scope of this research, consist of a group between 20-29 ages (64.5% (118)); have primary school diplomas (62 % (115)); have no profitable profession (89.4% (164)); have no social insurances (49.4% (91)).
34% (32) of the women have stated that delivery nurses who examined them behaved disrespectfully and 8.6% (3) of them stated that doctors also behaved disrespectfully to them, and that scolding, shouting and insulting are in the first place within these disrespectful behaviours.
It has been found out that 26.2% (48) of the women within the scope of this research faced disrespectful behaviours of the health staff in the delivery room and that scolding is in the first place within these disrespectful behaviours. However, it has been established that 69% (126) of the women were satisfied with the care that they had taken.
10.4% (19) of the women in the delivery unit stated that delivery nurses and 7% (4) of them stated that doctors behaved them disrespectfully, and that scolding, shouting are in the first rank within the disrespectful behaviour. It has been found that 82% (150) of the women are satisfied in the postnatal service.
Among the most important subjects which they were mostly satisfied and dissatisfied, it has been noted that "there is nothing special".Keywords: Patient Satisfaction, Patient Rights,
