It can be defined as a scientific interchange of views among physicians from different fields as regards the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. The present study has been planned in order to examine medical consultation particularly from the view point of physicians. A questionnaire consisting of 13 questions has been given to 81 physicians working in the Ankara Atatürk Chest Disease and Thoracic Surgery Center. It was understood from the questionnaire that 72.8% of these physicians believed that the consultations were unsatisfactory. They thought the consultans usually answered the requests haphazardly and the answers did not cover the overall problem, not reflecting the patient's reality.
After evaluating all the answers, we concluded that the concept of consultation in medical training and practice is not sufficient and that there should be a re-thinking in the medical education programs in relation to this concept. Keywords: Consultation, Medical Consultation,
